Toilet Seat Riser with Lid, 4″, White

A 4″ toilet seat riser with a lid, which raises the seat height so there is less distance to lower yourself and less to push up from. Helpful for anyone with knee or hip pain, or limited mobility.

Two side twist-and-lock clamps hold it to the bowl so it does not shift underfoot. Maximum user weight is 300 pounds.

Polypropylene construction, so it resists corrosion and cleans and disinfects easily. Assembles without tools.

Fits most standard toilets, but check your bowl measurements against the dimensions before ordering.

Installation

1. Measure your bowl before you start. Run a tape from the seat bolt holes to the front rim, and across the widest part of the bowl. Compare those numbers to the dimensions listed here.
2. Take the old seat off. The two bolts at the back of the bowl usually have plastic caps that flip up. Hold the nut underneath and back the bolt out from the top. On an older toilet the nuts may be corroded, so a little penetrating oil and patience beats forcing it.
3. Wipe the rim clean and dry. Anything left on the rim keeps the riser from seating flat.
4. Set the riser on the bowl, centered front to back and side to side, so it sits down on the rim with no rocking.
5. Turn both side clamps to lock them onto the bowl. Snug them by hand only. These grip against the china, and cranking on them is how a bowl gets cracked.
6. Test it before anyone uses it. Press down hard on the front edge, then try to rock it side to side. There should be no shift and no rocking. If it moves, loosen the clamps, recenter it, and lock it again.
7. Check the clamps once a week and any time you take it off to clean. They loosen with use, and a riser that shifts is how a fall happens.

Safe Use and Care

• Maximum user weight is 300 pounds.
• Do not use the riser or its lid to pull yourself up. It is a height aid, not a support. If you need something to hold onto, install a proper grab bar anchored into the wall framing.
• Clean with mild soap and water or a standard bathroom disinfectant. Skip abrasive pads and scouring powders, which scratch the plastic and give bacteria somewhere to sit.
• Lift it off now and then and clean the rim of the bowl underneath.
• Replace it if you find a crack anywhere in the body or the clamps.
