An 18″ fold-down shower seat in teak on a 304 stainless steel frame. Teak is the right wood for a shower — it has its own oil in it, so it handles constant wet without rotting or warping the way most woods do.

The surface is fumigated and baked, which leaves it smooth to sit on but still gives grip when wet.

It folds up to within 2″ of the wall, so it is out of the way when nobody needs it. There is a deliberate gap left at the hinge so it will not catch your fingers when it closes.

One thing to get right. A wall-mounted seat is only as strong as what it is bolted to. It needs to land in studs or solid blocking — drywall anchors alone will not hold a person.
